Kler Say was a MY STORY photo project student in 2009; a bit older than the other students, he was very serious and very focused on learning everything he could from the training.
Last week he brought us these images, taken at his home village somewhere inside Burma. He wanted us to post them; we are proud to do so. The captions are his, unless otherwise noted.

Karen New Year took place on December 16, 2009. These 50 feet high structures Kler Say photographed represent a fish skeleton on the left and a chicken roost on the right. The fish is male, the chicken female. Together they symbolize men and women working together in peace and harmony. Surrounding the figures are branches representing the 4 points of the compass so that peace and harmony will prevail all over the world. (s&n)
